The Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) is a foundation course in U.S. and E.U. privacy and data protection laws, standards and practices. It also covers the general practice areas of information security, online privacy and data flow management. This program is intended for entry-level to intermediate-level privacy and security professionals. Senior privacy and security officers are also welcome. The CIPP is the pre-requisite of the CIPP/G credential (below).

The Certified Information Privacy Professional/Government (CIPP/G), an advanced course, covers the privacy laws, regulations and policies specific to U.S. federal agencies and U.S. state governments. It is designed for U.S. government privacy officers, records managers and security professionals as well as vendors and consultants who serve U.S. government clients.

The Certified Information Privacy Professional/Canada (CIPP/C) is the first international credential to be offered by the IAPP. It assesses understanding of Canadian private sector and public sector privacy laws; model codes for privacy compliance; the roles and enforcement powers of the Canadian federal, provincial and territorial privacy commissioners; and industry-standard best practices for information security, online privacy and data flow management.

The IAPP Privacy Academy will feature these certification training workshops for individuals:

CIPP/G               One session = U.S.$159; Two sessions = U.S.$595
CIPP/C               Two sessions = U.S.$495

TEST ON-SITE
All examinations will be held at the Westin St. Francis Hotel on Wednesday, October 24, 2007.

CIPP/G is a one-hour, two-part exam presented in the morning

CIPP and CIPP/C are two-hour, five-part exams presented in parallel during the afternoon                                     
All examinees                      U.S.$245 per person, per exam

All examinees must be IAPP members prior to testing for certification.
